Without doubt an extraordinary sire: Contendro I - 1999 Holstein premium stallion, 2000 stallion performance test winner, 2001 placed in the Holstein Riding Horse Championships and nominated for the Bundeschampionat. Except for sporadic competitions, his strong breeding schedule prevented him from participating often in shows but when he did he was a competitor to reckon with.
His sire, Contender, is one of the world's best jumper-makers. His dam, Bravo, is the dam of Caretano Z (by Caretino), a licensed stallion who became the 1997 Vice Bundeschampion, 1999 World Champion of seven-year old show jumpers and also placed in the World Cup Final of Gothenberg/SWE among other competitions before he died very early in 2001. In 2003, Bravo gave birth to Contendro I's full brother, Contendro II, her third licensed son and in 2008 her fourth licensed son, the Holstein Verband stallion, Cassito (by Cassiano). The granddam, Ofarim, produced a licensed stallion named Conteur (by Contender) who qualified for the Nürnberg Burg Pokal. Her daughter, Evita XII (by Reichsgraf), is the dam of a licensed stallion named Caballo (by Coriano) who wins ribbons in the US.
Contendro I is a great advertisement for the famous Holstein performance line 104 a.
